A man in his 50s has been arrested for stealing goods from automobiles.
Jeonju Wansan Police Station in North Jeolla Province said Tuesday that it had booked the suspect on the charge of burglary.
He is accused of stealing a camera and a lens worth around 7.5 million won ($7,020) from a car at a parking lot in Wansan-gu, Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, around 2:40 p.m. on May 8.
Since March, the suspect has reportedly stolen money and goods worth around 9 million won ($8,420) from automobiles in Wansan-gu on six occasions.
Police tracked him down by analyzing CCTV footage taken near the area.
He stole only from vehicles with the side mirrors unfolded, according to the police investigation.
The suspect reportedly said, “Cars that had the side mirrors left unfolded were often open. I committed the crime for living expenses.”
