The popular male vocal trio group Honey G, who rose to stardom through audition program “Superstar K4,” is to release its first full studio album this week.

“As newcomers to the music scene, Honey G will be showing a rare side of itself through its first studio album,” said a representative from the boys’ agency Chungchun Music. “Although the group is releasing its first full album quite quickly, the members stated that they are confident about their music.”

Members Bae Jae-hyun, Kwon Tae-hyun and Park Ji-yong first came into the spotlight as top competitors on the reality singing competition show “Superstar K4.” Honey G was the first group to have been officially formed through “Superstar K.”

The group was originally developed by combining select members of the former Honey Brown and Fat Duo acts. Although the two bands auditioned separately, “Superstar K” judge Lee Seung-chul came up with the idea of combining the two groups into one which eventually led to the birth of Honey G. The trio made it to the top seven of the show before eventually being eliminated.

Honey G’s upcoming album is scheduled to be released on Thursday and will include 10 tracks.
