[THE INVESTOR] LG Electronics will set up a separate booth for its parts business -- the first of its kind -- during the upcoming IFA electronics trade show held in Berlin next month.

LG, which is better known for its home appliances and smartphones, has been pouring resources into its parts business, seeking supply deals with corporate clients.

The Korean tech giant plans to showcase some 30 motors and compressors that are used for its top-selling refrigerators, washing machines and air conditioners during the annual IFA show.

The company said it sold more than 40 percent of its compressor productions in the first half of this year to corporate clients and would continue to increase the portion. More recently, it has also started supplying motors for washing machines to an unnamed appliance-maker.

The company owns 973 patents related to its Inverter Linear Compressor technology in Korea, along with 227 in the US and 46 in Europe.
