LG CNS president and CEO Kim Young-sub stressed pragmatic approach at work for better communication and efficiency in his inauguration message to employees Thursday.

Kim, former senior vice president at LG Uplus, took office as new CEO of LG CNS, the IT solutions unit, last month. Prior to working at LG Uplus, he had served diverse positions at LG CNS, including chief financial officer, for 11 years.

“It is great to come back,” he said. “I also feel heavy responsibility about my new task.”

He asked employees, among other things, to abandon unnecessary procedures and focus on practical things to create a more efficient corporate culture.

The message had already been reflected in the company’s recent organizational restructuring that combined overlapping business divisions to speed up the overall decision-making process.

He also pledged to listen to diverse voices within the company and build positive consensus.

“If we join forces once again, I have no doubt that LG CNS will become a market No. 1,” he said.

Kim majored in management at Korea University and entered an LG trading unit, now LG International, in 1984. He has nurtured specialty in finance and IT businesses.
