The Kia Tigers and Kia Motors staff will hold the “Tigers Love Fund” donation program throughout the rest of the 2011 season to raise cash for people in developing countries.

The program, in its second year, includes 14 players from the Kia Tigers and some 3,500 employees of Kia Motors, 600 more than the previous year.

Third baseman and power hitter, Lee Bum-ho will donate 200,000 won ($185) per home run. Choi Hee-seop, Kim Sang-hyeon and 4 other hitters will also donate anywhere between 10,000 won to 50,000 won for every steal, base hit and home run.

Yoon Suk-min, Seo Jae-weong and 4 other pitchers will donate 100,000 won per win to the pool, and donate 20,000 won and up for every hold and save.

The money collected will be used to help working class families and donate baseball supplies to Mongolia, Cambodia and other developing countries.

The first Tigers Love Fund collected some 93,000,000 won last year, and a portion was used to provide scholarships to 53 elementary, middle and high school baseball players from low income families.
