영국 런던의 한 상점에서 사람의 눈물을 모아 만든 조리용 소금을 판매해 화제다.
구매자가 선택할 수 있는 눈물의 종류도 화가 나서 난 눈물과 슬픔의 눈물, 웃음 뒤의 눈물, 양파를 썰다 난 눈물 그리고 재채기를 하다 난 눈물 등 으로 다양하다.
제품을 판매하는 온라인 쇼핑몰에 따르면 이 소금은 사람의 눈물을 체취해 끓인 후, 결정화 과정을 거쳐 손으로 일일이 거두어들이는 제조과정을 거친다.
소금의 가격은 한 병에 7파운드(약 1만 3천원)이며, 5병 들이 한 세트는 30파운드(약 5만 5천원)으로 온라인과 오프라인 매장에서 판매된다.
또한 이 가게는 울적함과 고통을 무마시켜 준다는 사탕 등 독특한 제품들을 판매해 고객을 늘리고 있다.

U.K. shop sells salt made from human tears
A London emporium has launched a type of cooking salt made from human tears, the Daily Mail reported.
Customers can choose the salt product from a range of tears, including anger, sorrow, laughter, chopping onions or sneezing.
According to the shop, Hoxton Street Monster Supplies, their salt “combines centuries-old craft with the freshest human tears which are gently boiled, released into shallow crystallization tanks, then harvested by hand and finally rinsed in brine.”
A bottle of salt is to be sold at 7 pounds and a five-bottle package costs 30 pounds either online and or at the shop. The shop also sells product like candies that apparently induce a mood of “marvelous” misery and melancholy.
