NASA will announce new discovery by Hubble Space Telescope

NASA is planning to hold a teleconference on 3 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27 (1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 26 in Washington) to announce new discovery by Hubble Space Telescope.

The space agency indicated in a media release that “astronomers have pushed the Hubble Space Telescope to its limits and have seen further back in time than ever before.”

The new findings will also be published in the journal Nature.

According to NASA, the Hubble Space Telescope is used to observe the most distant stars and galaxies as well as the planets in our solar system. It is named after astronomer Edwin Hubble, who used the telescope to discover galaxies beyond our own.

Among many findings, the telescope found that the universe is expanding faster than anyone realized, space.com said. It has played a crucial role in helping astronomers see the wonders of the cosmos since 1991.
