GE Healthcare Korea names Francis Van Parys as new CEO

GE Healthcare Korea said Monday that it has appointed Francis Van Parys, a veteran marketing and sales expert at GE’s businesses, as its new CEO and president, replacing the outgoing CEO Sia Moussavi.

Van Parys has spent 16 years at GE’s health care, life sciences and industrial solutions businesses, serving in senior positions such as the general manager of commercial operations and general manager of product management for life sciences, the company said.

He is an experienced general manager with a strong track record of delivering results in senior leadership roles in portfolio management, commercial operations, and sales and marketing, the firm said.

“I am very confident that the extensive experience and leadership capabilities that Francis has accumulated in the global health care market will bring a new era of partnership with Korea customers including medical professionals and biopharma players to accelerate the growth of GE Healthcare Korea,” said Sean Burke, president and CEO of GE Healthcare APAC.

Van Parys graduated from the University of Ghent in Belgium with a master’s degree in material science and engineering. He also holds a master of science in polymer technology from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in the UK.

As the new head of GE Healthcare Korea, Van Parys will be residing in Seoul, the company said.
