First generation K-pop group S.E.S. is preparing to comeback with a new album next year to celebrate its 20th anniversary of debut, the group's management said Monday.

"The preparations for a new album and a concert are still in the initial stages and nothing concrete can be said yet," an official from South Korean Entertainment giant S.M. Entertainment told Yonhap News Agency.

Lee Soo-man, the founder of the agency and the original inceptor of the group, will spearhead production, making the reunion worth remembering, it added.

The all-girl trio debuted in 1997 and raised phenomenal popularity alongside FIN.K.L, the two representing the first generation of K-pop girl groups.

Following the idol group's disbandment in 2002, Bada continued her activities as singer and musical actress while Eugene debuted as an actress and Shoo made appearances on variety shows.

In December, the members reunited and shared their desire to return to the music scene. Since eight years ago, the members have been involved in a charity event annually. Ever since, they have been discussing among themselves to donate the profit they would gain if they release an album together.

If the longing to comeback with a new album just ended in mere talks before, this time around, the 90's K-pop icons have joint forces with Korea's top entertainment agency to materialize the plan.

"It will be S.E.S.' 20th anniversary next year! We want to have a deeply meaningful time with our forever 'Friends,'" Bada posted on her social media page. "Friends" is the name of the trio's official fan group.

In 2014, Bada and Shoo have aroused great interest from their fans for reuniting one more time for MBC TV's popular variety program "Infinite Challenge's" special episode "Saturday, Saturday is for Singers (TOTOGA)," aimed at bringing back the top singers from the 90s on a spectacular, revival stage.
