[THE INVESTOR] SK Holdings C&C, a data services firm, said July 13 that it would work with a local robot company to develop new robot solutions utilizing up-to-date artificial intelligence and cloud computing technologies.
Signing a partnership deal on the day at its headquarters in Bundang, the C&C and Robocare vowed to collaborate to develop the robot solutions.
The C&C will deploy its AI, big data and cloud computing technologies for the joint project while the local robot maker will make use of its robotic expertise.

Established in 2012 with funding from Korea Institute of Science and Technology, a state-run research and development institute, Robocare developed different types of robots including SILBOT3, which takes care of the elderly and physically challenged children, emcee robot KIBO, and service robot MERO-SERIES.
“The robot market is rapidly growing with the emergence of advanced AI technology,” said Yoo Young-sang, head of SK Holdings C&C’s business development division, vowing to collaborate with more companies to roll out robot services combined with the firm’s AI tech.
