Luna of SM Entertainment girl group f(x) said that f(x)’s music has been successful because it is global and trendy.

The girl group is known for its high quality dance music in addition to its energetic performances.

Billboard named the quartet’s latest album “4 Walls” the No. 2 K-pop album of 2015.

“F(x) communicates a lot with composers from abroad, so we can connect better with our fans abroad. It also helps us to develop our musical color,” she said at a press conference before the Sunday performance of f(x)’s solo concert “Dimension 4 - Docking Station.”

“We can share our music with fans all over the world, and listening to demo tapes helps us to see what kind of music is trendy abroad, in Europe or in the U.S., for example. We used to have some trouble putting Korean lyrics to songs composed abroad, but our lyricists work hard to find stylish and unique sources for us, and we can express ourselves in a more stylish, unique way,” she said.

Later, Luna also mentioned the members have played an important role in establishing f(x)’s musical identity.

“Krystal and Amber, in particular, seek out music in the latest trends,” she said. “When we‘re choosing our songs, they’re very active in recommending certain demos for our style. We think a lot about how we can perform more stylish, trendy music.”

F(x)‘s first exclusive concert since their debut in 2009 took place from Friday to Sunday at Olympic Hall in Olympic Park.
