His Bobcats have plummeted through the shortened 2011-12 season, finishing with abysmal 7-59 record. Its .106 winning percentage is the worst in NBA history.

The only upside of its epic failure is that it awarded them a 25 percent chance at getting the No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft.

It means the team might be able to pick up 208-centimeter forward Anthony Davis from Kentucky.

Davis, who led his team to the 2012 NCAA championship, is widely considered the top talent in this year’s draft.

Many Charlotte fans are hoping that the team will be able to turn its fate around with the draft lottery. In addition, it may affect Jordan’s personal reputation as a team manager.

While Jordan is considered one of the best basketball players of all time, his track record as an executive has been less than satisfactory.

In 2001, Jordan, then executive of Washington Wizards, selected 208-centimeter forward and center Kwame Brown right out of high-school with the first overall pick. Brown fell woefully short of the high expectation of experts and fans and never blossomed into a force in the league.

The draft lottery to determine the order of the first 14 teams to make their selections in the June 28 draft will be held in New York Wednesday night. The 14 teams that did not qualify for the playoffs will participate.
