Angry passer-by pushes suicidal man off bridge

Video footage of a frustrated pedestrian pushing a suicidal man off a bridge in China has emerged on YouTube and other websites.

In the video, a person identified as Chen Fuchao sits on a bridge in Guangdong Province, contemplating suicide. Lai Jiansheng, a retired 66-year-old soldier marches up to Chen and reaches out, apparently for a handshake.

However, when Chen grabs his hand, Lai shoves him off the 8-meter bridge and onto an emergency air cushion. Chen was hospitalized with wrist and back injury.

Lai was charged with intentionally causing injury, while Chen may be accused of disturbing public order.

중국에서 한 노인이 자살을 하려고 다리 위에 앉아있던 한 남성을 밀어버리는 황당한 사건이 발생했다.

영국의 BBC 방송과 유튜브 등 다양한 매체에 소개된 한 동영상에서 첸 푸차오란 이름의 한 남성은 다리 위에 스스로 목숨을 끊으려는 듯 다리 위에 앉아있고, 그를 구하려는 구급대원들이 옆에서 분주하게 움직인다.

이때, 지나가던 라이 지안셩(66)이 다리 위로 올라가 마치 악수를 하려는 듯 첸에게 손을 내민다. 그러나 그의 손을 잡는 순간, 라이는 첸을 8미터 높이의 다리 너머로 밀어버린다. 

첸은 결국 반쯤 공기가 들어간 구조용 에어 쿠션 위로 떨어진 후, 손목과 등에 부상을 입고 병원으로 실려갔다.

라이는 고의로 부상을 유발한 혐의를 받고 있으며, 첸은 공공질서를 어지럽힌 혐의를 받을 것으로 보인다.
