A slightly lower proportion of South Koreans used social media in 2019, amid the waning popularity of platforms such as Facebook, data showed. The average monthly income of wage earners rose 3.4 percent in 2018 from a year earlier, government data showed. South Koreans earned 2.97 million won ($2,550) per month on average in 2018, compared with 2.87 million won in 2017, according to the data compiled by Statistics Korea.
